Central Jakarta Administration's effort to soon finalize the sheet pile construction in Utan Kayu River, Cempaka Putih Timur Urban Village, Cempaka Putih, does not run smoothly. This is because, until now there are seven home owners whose lands refused to be relocated.

M Jawar, (45), one of home owners expressed he refused to be relocated because of there is no clarity about the compensation and relocation from Central Jakarta Administration. In addition, there was no socialization about sheet pile construction.
"Everything should be clear first. Don't install sheet piles haphazardly. This involves our livelihood," he exclaimed, Monday (11/24).
Head of Cempaka Putih Sub-District, Lilik Yuli Handayani admitted seven buildings were built ten years ago and its land has been acquired by Jakarta Public Works Department as the proxy of budget user. "Indeed, the land is not yet acquired as there has been no agreement on compensation matters," she expressed.
Separately, Head of Central Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department, Herning Wahyuningsih deplored the building owners who have rejected their land to be acquired for public interest. Thus, sheet pile construction cannot be continued well.
"They should be sincere. Whereas, we plan to build an access road along the Utan Kayu River," she uttered
